Windsurfing: Clacton-on-Sea, Martello Bay Wind Direction: SSE Wind Stength: 15-20mph Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 20 Sea Temperature: 15 Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Arrived 2 hours before high tide, wind was onshore, rigged big and got out
through the shorebreak (should have launched from behind the breakwater)
and had a good couple of hours of blasting through the choppy stuff and
putting in a gybe attempt in the flatter water behind the rock groynes at
either edge of the bay. The waves were getting big at times, hit one and
got airborn and crashed on landing. Made a gybe attempt at every turn with
a small amount of success, looking at the photos I didn’t bend my legs
enough and was leaning too far back.
Only a few kiters out for company, although a windsurfer did turn up as I
left but he hadnt rigged big enough and failed to plane properly.
